Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Calcenta collects, what it does not, and the choices you have over advertising cookies.

The short version
The numbers you type into a calculator never leave your browser. Every calculation on this site runs locally in JavaScript on your device - there is no server round-trip, so your salary, your debts, your weight, and your dates are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell data. The only third party with any access is Google, which serves the advertising that funds the site, and which you can opt out of.
Information we collect
Information you provide
None, unless you contact us. There are no visitor accounts, no newsletters, and no forms that submit calculator inputs anywhere.
Information collected automatically
We record a small amount of aggregate usage data so we know which tools are useful:
- Page views. The path of the page you viewed, a coarse country code, and the site that referred you (the hostname only, never the full URL).
- A rotating visitor code. To count how many distinct people visit - rather than just how many pages are loaded - we generate a code from your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, and today’s date, combined with a secret key and put through a one-way cryptographic hash.
Your IP address is never stored. The hash cannot be reversed to recover it. And because the current date is part of the input, the code changes at midnight every night, so the same person is a different code tomorrow and cannot be followed from one day to the next. We set no cookie for this, and it cannot be used to build a profile of you. - Site searches. If you use the search box, we record what you typed and how many tools matched, so we know which calculators are missing. These are stored without any visitor code, so a search cannot be tied back to a person or to other searches.
- Google Analytics, if enabled, which records standard web analytics such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and referring site. This runs only after you grant analytics consent.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, which may include IP addresses and are retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.
Information stored on your device
We use your browser’s local storage - not cookies - to remember your theme preference, your currency selection, and your cookie choice. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
Advertising, Google, and third-party cookies
This site is funded entirely by advertising served through Google AdSense. We run no affiliate links, no sponsored content, and no e-commerce.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also set cookies to measure ad performance and limit how often you see the same advertisement.
How to opt out of personalized advertising
You have several independent ways to opt out:
- On this site: use the Manage cookies link in the footer to withdraw or change your consent at any time. If you decline, advertising cookies are not set and any ads you see are non-personalized.
- Across all Google services: visit Google My Ad Center or Google Ads Settings.
- Across many ad networks at once: visit aboutads.info/choices or the NAI opt-out page. European visitors can also use youronlinechoices.eu.
- In your browser: block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Google’s own practices are described in its policy on how it uses information from sites that use its services.
Consent in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookie is set. We use Google Consent Mode v2, and all consent signals default to denied until you choose otherwise. Declining does not restrict your access to any calculator on this site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no account data and no identifiers, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve - but you can contact us with any request and we will respond.
US state privacy rights. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have. Personalized advertising is a different matter: showing it involves disclosing data to Google and its partners, which California’s CPRA defines as “sharing”, and which Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other states classify as “targeted advertising”. You can opt out of it at any time with the Manage cookies link in the footer, or through the Google controls listed above. Opting out does not remove advertising - the ads you see simply stop being personalized.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
Aggregate page-view records are retained for up to 24 months and contain no personal data. The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but because we do not collect sensitive personal data there is very little at risk.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
